The official line is that they are just friends. The unlikely couple partied the night away at French nightclub VIP Room and left together at 4am . Ummm. They even shared the same car home. Next day, they strolled hand in hand along the Club 55 harbour in glitzy St Tropez with friend and former model Helena Christensen. One onlooker said: “Bono and Penelope looked very intimate indeed. They were very touchy feely. “When they piled into the car together, Penelope gazed at him adoringly.” Where was Bono’s wife of 24 years, Ali Hewson? Does she believe they are just friends? Umm.
