Last night American Idol contestant (and let’s face it, totally gay) Danny Noriega was booted off the show and not a moment too soon. In recent weeks, there had been controversy that America’s #1 TV show would finally have its first openly gay contestant. Now that Danny’s gone, such controversy can be put back in the closet where it belongs.

Frankly, we were worried that such overt flamitude on the ultra-manly FOX network would send Rupert Murdoch into cardiac arrest (or worse, turn him into Democrat).

Fortunately for those among us who can’t say WeHo without giggling, Noriega is hasta la vista, baby, and American Idol can now return to being the totally macho, butch bastion of heterosexuality we know and love.

Our favorite musical talent show hosted by Ryan Seacrest is finally, once again, 100% straight.
